Visioning 2029 and onwards

I believe the visioning process that is currently being undertaken by the City of Fremantle is very worthwhile and even more important during this stage of uncertainty with regards to amalgamations.

We need to have a clear vision of where we need to be in years to come and put in place a mechanism that any future council/commissioner will respect and work towards.

We need more people living in Fremantle that is obvious but we also need to attract a unique offering that will encourage people to move to Fremantle,

We need light rails, less cars and alternative lifestyle choices, we need to be a creative cultural hub and we need to put a structure in place that allows this to happen

We need low cost homes, student accommodation a vibrant Port with its own unique offering. All of the above can only be achieved by detailing a common understanding and formulating a plan that the next generation of leaders can work towards.

“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” – Greek Proverb
