Phase 1: The National Hotel Fremantle Bar and Restaurant – scheduled to open for trade towards the end of 2013.

With restoration and fit-out works now in full swing, we plan to have the first phase of operations open for trade before the end of the year.

The National Hotel has gone to great lengths to ensure that the fit-out for the Bar and Restaurant is in keeping with the incredible heritage and history of the both the building and of the picturesque Port-City of Fremantle itself – encompassing the very best of traditional values and the quality and vibe of modern hospitality.

The ground level will comprise of a lively bar, themed with original brickwork, vintage timber, pressed-tin ceilings and wrought-iron fixtures. It will hold a capacity of around 150 persons with provisions for an additional 50-seater al-fresco area along High Street.

The 1st floor will comprise of a lounge bar and restaurant with its décor making full-use of the high ceilings and Federation architectural styling. With restored fireplaces, stained-glass embellishments and large French windows, this area will ooze charm and character. The 1st floor will hold a capacity of around 160 persons with an additional 100-seater al-fresco area on the balconies over-looking High Street and Market Street.

There will be 30 taps of draught beer, featuring top Australian and International brands as well as a selection of craft-brewed favourites. Both bars will also offer a wide selection of bottled beers, ciders and wines from WA, Australia, New Zealand and other top-producing Nations. We will also be freshly building and mixing the finest classic and contemporary cocktails.

A huge open-plan kitchen services the restaurant. Food will be prepared in a modern-Australian style, together with a touch of Asian flair, using fresh, seasonal ingredients. We plan to eventually open 7 days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, high-tea and dinner.

The bar and restaurant are currently licensed from 6am to 10pm (Sundays) and until midnight (Mon-Sat). We are in the process of applying for extended trading permits to be allowed to trade until 1am (Wed/Thurs) and 2am (Fri/Sat). The venue will be a fun, exciting and welcoming place to frequent and will offer something for everyone – all day dining, an extensive beverage and cocktail list, great al-fresco areas for those lazy afternoons and varied entertainment; ranging from sports screenings to comedy nights to live and DJ’d music. All areas will be available for private and corporate function bookings and events.
